Athlete Whereabouts

Athlete whereabouts is information provided by, or on behalf of, an athlete that gives details of the athlete's locations on a daily basis to enable no-notice testing to take place.

Who completes whereabouts?

Whereabouts_skiier.gifEach IF (International Federation) and NADO (National Anti-Doping Organisation) create a Registered Testing Pool (RTP) of athletes meeting criteria specified by the IF or the NADO.  There is also a 2nd tier National Testing Pool (NTP) in New Zealand. All athletes in both the RTP and NTP are subject to and required to complete Athlete whereabouts requirements as set out in the International Standards.   Only RTP athletes are required to provide the daily 60 minute timeslot.  DFSNZ will notify any athlete in NZ that is in the DFSNZ RTP or NTP.

What is required?

An athlete in the RTP or NTP is required to:
  • Make quarterly (every 3 months) whereabouts filing submissions that contain information about the athletes whereabouts during the up-coming quarter.
Filings need to include:
  • A primary residential address.
  • Training locations and dates.
  • Competition locations and dates.
  • A specific 60 minute time slot that athletes guarantee they will be available for testing at a specific location (RTP athletes only).  This must be between 6am and 11pm.
  • Provide all sufficient information to enable DFSNZ to find the athlete at any time between 6am and 11pm on any day.
