
Medical professionals often deal with athletes who are subject to drug testing in sport. Drug Free Sport NZ provides a range of services for both medical professionals and has resources designed to assist with prescription or administration of medicines for athletes.
Important things to note

Strict liability lies with the athlete to ensure medicines are permitted or Therapeutic Use Exemptions have been granted. (Refer to the TUE section for more information on applying for a TUE.)

DFSNZ instructs all athletes who receive resources or attend education seminars to always tell all medical professional that they are subject to drug testing - every time they are treated.

MIMs resources and Martindale's are good references for ascertaining the status of medications in sport. (Medtech and other management systems have this data integrated into them.)

The Prohibited List contains some substances that are NOT PERFORMANCE ENHANCING. Make no assumptions on behalf of an athlete.
