The Tribunal is an independent body, which decides certain types of disputes for the sports sector. It was established in 2003 in response to the Ministerial Taskforce "Getting Set for and Active Nation" to help National Sporting Organisations avoid lengthy and costly legal battles and was continued under section 29 Sports Anti-Doping Act 2006.
