injections1.gifFrom January 1, 2006, topical corticosteroid preparations when used for dermatological, aural/otic, nasal, buccal cavity and ophthalmologic disorders are not prohibited and do not require any form of Therapeutic Use Exemption.Put simply nasal sprays, ear and eye drops, as well as skin creams can be used without the need for TUE approval.

NOTE: Systemically administered corticosteroids (Intramuscular injections, Intravenous or oral ie: Prednisone) require a Standard TUE.

As long as an Abbreviated TUE is completed in full and the correct form is used for the type of medication, it will be accepted by the Drug Free Sport NZ.

If you wish to confirm receipt of a TUE then phone the Drug Free Sport NZ 0800 378-437 or send an email to info@drugfreesport.org.nz
