Strategic PlanMission Statement.By applying the principles and purposes of the New Zealand Sports Drug Agency Act and the World Anti-Doping Agency’s Code, Drug Free Sport NZ will promote and monitor the fight against doping in all its forms. Drug Free Sport NZ will provide independent, high quality anti-doping programmes and, in collaboration with the New Zealand sports community, will educate athletes about the issues, dangers and consequences of doping to deter them from using doping practices. Drug Free Sport NZ Strategic Direction.Drug Free Sport NZ's role is to ensure New Zealand’s athletes do not use banned doping practices, that they understand the dangers and consequences of such practices and that New Zealand continues to be seen by the international community as a doping-free sporting nation. Drug Free Sport NZ will work closely in partnership with the sports community to promote, coordinate and monitor the fight against doping in sport in all its forms. The Drug Free Sport NZ Strategic Plan is integral to this objective. The Plan defines Drug Free Sport NZ’s strategic direction. It sets out the key objectives, main goals, strategies and performance measures. The Plan is flexible and will be reviewed regularly by the Drug Free Sport NZ Board to ensure it reflects the strategic direction of the Organisation.The details behind the Plan, including the Drug Free Sport NZ core testing programmes, will be implemented each year through the Annual Business/Operating Plan. As outlined in the Plan, the Drug Free Sport NZ’s strategic direction concentrates on five key areas: • implementing the Code in the delivery of world class anti-doping programmes and services to sport. • providing world class education and information to sports organisations and athletes to enable them to comply with the Code. • contributing toward the world anti-doping movement. • creating strong and enduring relationships with stakeholders. • implementing best practice governance and administration. |
